GETTING YOUR RESULTS

Results

Your Test Report Form will be available 13 days after your test. This will be sent to you in the post or you can collect it in person.

How to access results online

Results will also be available to view online for 28 days.

You will need your candidate number and your ID number (the ID you used to register for the test).

Understanding your results

Remember, there is no pass or fail with IELTS. You will receive a score from 1 (Non-user) to 9 (Expert user) for each part of the test – Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking. Your overall band score is calculated from the average of these. You can score whole or half bands. For more detailed information on the 9-band IELTS scale, see here.

Results validity period

IELTS results are usually valid for two years. However, you should check directly with the organisation or university you are applying to.

IELTS examiners

IELTS examiners are qualified and experienced English language specialists. They undergo extensive training to become IELTS examiners and are subject to ongoing monitoring, quality control procedures and re-certification. The Speaking part of the IELTS test is recorded to ensure the highest levels of quality control.
